About the event
In this generative writing workshop, suitable for both new and seasoned writers, you’ll craft four new short stories, ranging from 100-2000 words. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to be workshopped by your peers and to receive instructor feedback. Weekly sessions will include both craft discussions, looking at examples of plot, structure, character, theme, setting and language from classic and contemporary authors like Shirley Jackson and George Saunders, along with an overview of the submission process. You’ll finish class not only with four new story drafts but with the momentum to get them published.
Beth Anderson (who also publishes as A.E. Dethlefsen) is a writer, professor, and night person from Austin, Texas.
