Folk Horror and Story Structure: the visualization of the ‘Folk Horror Chain’ from The Wicker Man to Sinners
The genre of Folk Horror has its roots in late 1960s British cinema but has grown into a highly flexible storytelling structure. This talk will explore what constitutes folk horror and how it is illustrated in contemporary film.
Andrea holds a BA from Wellesley College in Art History and Studio Art and a BFA from the Art Center College of Design with a degree in Illustration and Entertainment Design. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Southern Maine in 2015. Andrea has worked in independent film, theatre, and television as a storyboard artist, costume designer, and technical director.
