About the event
Want to level up your storytelling repertoire? Take your dialogue skills a step further? Or maybe you're just missing that oh-so-elusive core of your writing practice: fun! (There's a reason the form is called "play," after all.) In this crash course, we'll focus on two types of scripts: the screen/teleplay and the 10-minute stage play, examining essential craft elements that produce natural-sounding dialogue and compelling narrative; learn scriptwriting formats; gain a basic understanding of the life of script; and discuss submission opportunities. Come ready to practice your writing, listening, and entertaining skills with the group. Beginners, never-have-I-evers, and those needing a refresher in the form are all welcome!
